Baby Essentials Workshop | Infant Care & Infant First Aid

Two of our most popular classes, brought together in one practical workshop for expectant and new parents!

Getting ready to welcome your little one? Whether you're expecting your first baby, preparing for another arrival, or have recently become a parent, our Baby Essentials Workshop is designed to help you feel confident, informed and prepared.

We've combined our much-loved Infant Care Class with Registered Midwife Carla Kelly and our incredibly popular Infant First Aid Class with Children's Nurse Éle O'Hare.

Join us for both sessions and enjoy a saving, or simply choose the individual class that suits you best!

Part 1: Infant Care with Carla

10:00am–11:30am | 90 minutes

A fun, relaxed and interactive session covering all the practical newborn care essentials.

We'll cover:

• How to safely hold, lift and handle your newborn

• Nappy changing, including our famous Nappy Race Challenge!

• Dressing and undressing your baby

• Bathing your newborn

• Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding basics

• Safe sleep and swaddling

• Safe babywearing and carrying

• Everyday newborn care, settling and practical tips

You'll have the opportunity to practise with our baby dolls, ask plenty of questions and enjoy a few laughs along the way!

Part 2: Infant First Aid with Éle

11:45am–1:45pm | 2 hours

Every parent hopes they'll never need to use first aid, but knowing what to do in an emergency can make all the difference.

Led by experienced Children's Nurse Éle O'Hare, this practical session covers:

• Recognising and responding to emergencies

• Infant CPR, including hands-on practice

• Choking and airway emergencies

• Burns, scalds and wound care

• Temperature management

• Allergic reactions

• Poisoning

• Common childhood illnesses

• Home and car seat safety

You'll leave with practical knowledge and greater confidence in responding to emergencies involving babies and young children.
