What Our Night Nannies Do

The role of a night nanny varies depending on your family’s needs. For some families, this may mean extra guidance and reassurance with their first baby; for others, it may simply be the chance to enjoy an uninterrupted night’s sleep.

Benefits & Features

  • Feeding support – Night nannies will feed your baby during the night so you can rest. We support breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, or a combination of both. Our midwives are experienced in soothing babies, ensuring a calm transition between feeds.

  • Nappy changes – Your baby will be kept clean, comfortable, and settled after each feed.

  • Sleep training guidance – Our nannies have expertise in gentle sleep techniques and can help parents establish healthy sleep habits. This may include introducing gentle schedules, supporting self-soothing, and encouraging restful nights for your baby.

  • Monitoring – Your baby’s well-being is closely observed throughout the night, with attention to signs of discomfort or illness.

  • Parental guidance – We provide advice on newborn care, including feeding routines, nappies, and soothing strategies.

  • Nighttime routines – We can help set up a consistent nighttime routine tailored to your family, promoting better sleep for both baby and parents.

  • Record-keeping – On request, nannies can maintain logs of feeds, nappy changes, and sleep patterns to help track your baby’s progress.

  • Light household tasks – Where needed, we can support with tasks related to baby care, such as washing bottles, preparing formula, or baby laundry.

SABINE

I am a Qualified Midwife with an active midwifery PIN in the UK, and I have over nine years of childcare experience supporting families with children from newborns to teenagers. I’m friendly, calm, and truly adore working with little ones. I recently completed a Master’s in Women’s Health at University College London. My Master’s dissertation explored the experience of parenthood after IVF. This research helped me appreciate the unique challenges families face in the early stages of parenthood. My goal is to give you total peace of mind, so you can relax and get the uninterrupted rest you deserve.

FAREEDAH

Deciding to embark on the journey of becoming a midwife at the age of 17 was a natural choice for Fareedah. She was propelled by a profound passion for supporting and empowering women throughout the transformative experience of childbirth.Fareedah’s decision to pursue a master's degree in dietetics alongside her midwifery background was a purposeful choice aimed at enhancing her ability to deliver comprehensive care. Recognising the pivotal role that nutrition plays in maternal health and fetal development, she sought to deepen her understanding. By integrating dietetics into her skill set, Fareedah aims to provide well-rounded guidance, fostering optimal health for both mothers and their newborns throughout the childbirth journey.Inspired by the strength and resilience displayed by mothers, and driven by her commitment to promoting holistic healthcare for new mothers, newborns, and their families, Fareedah's aspiration is to contribute her knowledge to Ask The Midwife.
