We’re thrilled to introduce our next term of  Baby Reflexology class, starting on Monday, April 28th for a four-week term. Led by the wonderful Lisa, this class is a fantastic opportunity to bond with your baby while learning the gentle art of reflexology.

Each session includes tea, coffee, and treats, along with plenty of time to connect with other mums in a relaxed, welcoming space.

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a gentle, therapeutic touch technique that focuses on specific reflex points in the feet, which correspond to different organs, glands, and systems within the body.

How Does it Work?
By stimulating these reflex zones in the feet, reflexology helps to:
- Support the nervous system
- Encourage relaxation and emotional well-being
- Promote overall health and balance in the body

Touch is one of the most soothing and beneficial factors in a child’s emotional and psychological growth. Reflexology offers a gentle way to support this development from an early age.

Common Questions:

Q What is baby reflexology?

Baby reflexology works on organs and systems of the body through the use of specific points on the feet.

Q What are the Benefits?

Children have 200,000 nerve endings on their feet which send constant feedback to the brain.

Reflexology uses these nerve endings to improve

Motor development, constipation, colic, reflux , sinus/chest problems, sleep, relaxation, teething, improved skin conditions

What’s really lovely about the course is that you can introduce it to them as babies but continue it on throughout their lives into teenage years as it helps with anxiety, emotion regulation , hormonal imbalances , concentration, stress to name but a few.

Q Is it redeemable on health insurances?

Yes with most insurances.

Q What does the course cover?

The course runs over 4 weeks and covers the nervous system,  respiratory system , digestive system , immune system.

Q What’s the difference between baby massage and baby reflexology?

I can’t asked this a lot

So firstly the 2 go together beautifully

However if you don’t have the time or like my 9 month is in training to be a ninja you might not have the time anymore to do a whole massage session

So reflexology can be used to target an area you want to treat quite quickly

So say if they are teething you could rub there big toes

If they hate the car seat so you want them to be relaxed as possible going on a journey your would treat the reflex for the spine to activate the parasympathetic system to send relaxing signals to the brain

So it is targeted relief for symptoms

You can also do full sequences post bath nappy change etc and I will go through these during my classes

Q Will it hurt them?

Touch is one of the most soothing and beneficial factors for a healthy emotional and psychological growth of a child.

The touch is light and gentle.

Babies explore their world through touch. It begins at 8 weeks in the womb and by continuing through reflexology as babies we can help them to enjoy this method through their formative years to assist a healthy development.

Q What if my baby cries during class?
That’s completely normal! Babies cry for many reasons—hunger, teething, tiredness, or discomfort. We encourage you to follow your baby’s cues, pausing the treatment as needed to attend to their needs.

Q What do I need to bring?
We provide mats and bolsters for comfort. You may wish to bring a small toy or comforter for your baby. We also have changing facilities on-site and extra supplies if needed!
